WHAT IS THE HUSH TRAVEL?

A 4 to 12 month travel group for digital nomads. 

 

WHO IS THE HUSH TRAVEL FOR? / WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A TRAVELER?

Most participants in The Hush Travel are location-independent freelancers, creatives, entrepreneurs and business owners, or anyone looking for a structured sabbatical. We are open-minded, curious, purpose-driven, and compassionate. We work, but also desire to build connections with our fellow travelers. Our travelers are ambitious, adventurous, and culturally aware with a community mindset.

We also select people that we believe will coexist well together, and be able to collaborate with and represent the caravan well as we move through international communities.

 

WHO CAN JOIN?

Any open-minded individual who wants to change their life, travel with a caravan, and can travel for a minimum of four months to a year.

WHAT'S THE APPLICATION PROCESS?

When do applications close?

Participants are interviewed and accepted on a rolling basis.

 

how much does it cost?

The application fee is $25. There is a $3,000 deposit due prior to your departure chapter, and each destination is $2,200 per month. There is only one deposit per traveler, no matter how long you stay within the 4 to 12-month timeframe.

 

when are the deposit and monthly fees due?

Temple: September — December 2018 / Total Deposit due: May 25, 2018
Motherlands : January — April 2019 / Total Deposit due: September 28, 2018
Set Sea: May – August 2019 / Total Deposit due: January 26, 2019

Monthly Fees are due by the 5th of each month.

Payment plans for the deposit are available upon request, however, a minimum of $1,500 is due upon acceptance to reserve your space. 

 

CAN I GET A DISCOUNT FOR PAYING THE FEES UP FRONT?

Yes, you will receive a $1,000 discount if you pay upfront in 4-month increments.

 

HOW MANY PEOPLE GO ON A TRIP?

We have 25-30 travelers at any given time.

 
 

WHAT'S THE WORK CULTURE LIKE?

The group will be a mix of digital nomads and travelers who are just taking a break to explore. We will have 24/hour Wi-Fi and a dedicated co-working space available in each city.

 

IS THE INTERNET GOOD ENOUGH TO WORK?

Yes. We will always make sure you have Wi-Fi at home. Life happens (ex. In the middle of a Balinese jungle, Wi-Fi may go out during a thunderstorm), but we always have co-working spaces with dependable Wi-Fi.

 

AM I REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE FOR THE FULL YEAR?

No. However, we require a minimum 4-month commitment starting at the beginning of our travel phases: September 2018; January 2019; or May 2019. You can choose to continue traveling with us month-to-month at the end of your chapter.

 

IS A REMOTE JOB REQUIRED TO APPLY/PARTICIPATE

No. But if you are interested in remote work, we will provide you various resources to help you acquire a job. We look for travelers who either have a job with the ability to work remotely, or a passion project to pursue, and the ability to pay the monthly fee.

 

CAN I GET MY EMPLOYER TO PAY FOR THIS?

We encourage this discussion, and can provide a document that you can share with your employer outlining the program to help with your conversation. 

 

HOW WILL HEALTH CARE BE ADDRESSED?

We are not providing travel health insurance. However, upon request, we can provide you with information regarding very affordable and total coverage travel health insurance packages. Additionally, health care is quite affordable in many of the destinations without insurance.

 

WILL WE GET TO PICK OUR LODGING?

Not exactly, but we do inquire about roommate preferences based on lifestyle and work. We'll try to place you with travelers with similar preferences and everyone will live in comfortable lodging with similar amenities across the caravan. 

 
 

WILL WE BE ABLE TO VISIT OUR HOME COUNTRY DURING THE YEAR?

Yes. You can come and go as you please. 

 

CAN I GO OFF AND EXPLORE BY MYSELF OR DO I HAVE TO STAY WITH THE GROUP?

Absolutely. We’ll have plenty of community gatherings, but this is still your experience and up to you to make it what you want to be. We will be in locations where travel to nearby locations is fairly easy and reasonably-priced.

 

CAN I BRING MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER?

Yes, but you both need to apply. If you share a room, you both will receive a discounted monthly price.

 

Will someone from The Hush always travel with the group?

Yes, someone from The Hush will always be on site.

 

HOW MUCH MONEY SHOULD I PLAN ON BUDGETING?

This depends on your lifestyle and how many extra activities, personal trips, shopping, etc. that you plan to do. Some of the countries are much less expensive, but others are comparable to the States. 

 

CAN I LEAVE THE TRIP EARLY?

Of course, we understand things happen. However, we do not cover the cost of getting back home or to your next destination. Additionally, we do not reimburse/prorate costs of any paid, but unused portions of The Trip. We advise travel insurance for emergencies and will provide our recommendations. 

 

COULD I TRAVEL CHEAPER ON MY OWN?

Yes. The Hush’s purpose is not just about travel, but also the experience, the culture, and the growth. We are looking for travelers who are seeking community and friendship while traveling the world.
