Ubud, Bali

temple — september 2018

The blissful Indonesian island known for its culturally rich landscape, magnificent rice paddies, gorgeous beaches and overwhelmingly friendly community-oriented people, is designed for an atmosphere of peace that immediately tugs at your heart. Ubud is a perfect place to experience spiritual awakening and enlightenment. There are temples and historic sites everywhere and their significance has been preserved and remains central to Balinese daily life.

The lushness of Ubud’s streets found in the intermix of palms, vines, and terraced rice fields is magical. As you approach the center of Ubud, the greenery gives way to bustling streets filled with locals and tourists alike, weaving their way in and out of shops, restaurants, temples and a small treasure trove of museums and galleries.

It takes a few days in Ubud to appreciate it properly. Once you acclimate and grow to love the thick Southeast Asian humidity, it’s one of those places where days can become weeks and weeks become months.

This is your experience and ultimately how you spend your time will be your choice alone. Ubud is filled with numerous cultural gems and discovery, with easy access to nearby cities, islands, adventures and weekend escapes.
